Twenty years and hundreds of thousands of students have proven that playing music with others builds stronger proficiency than conventional lessons. Live performance is at the core of our curriculum — our students grow as musicians and individuals by taking the stage together. In the process, they develop essential life skills like collaboration, compromise, and courage.
Our revolutionary, patented approach to music education is available nowhere else. The Method builds musical proficiency through three proprietary components: our Method App, Method Book collection, and SongFirst approach.
Ages 3-5
Little Wing is School of Rock's music program designed for our youngest students. This music program for toddlers and preschoolers features a special curriculum where students play games and participate in other interactive activities to help them internalize the foundational skills they will use as their musical abilities grow. These music classes for kids are the perfect start to a lifelong love of music. Little Wing students have one weekly group lesson in which they use classic rock songs to learn about rhythm, song structure, melody, and dynamics through play.
Ages 6-7
Rookies is a music program designed for children with no previous musical experience. As with all our music programs, Rookies adheres to the patented School of Rock Method. Our Method's core philosophy is that performance-based music education is the best way for students to gain musical proficiency. Rookies students have one weekly group music lesson where they learn music fundamentals like chords, rhythm, and song structure. Kids get to learn and experiment with multiple instruments so they are then able to decide which one they ultimately want to continue pursuing in Rock 101.

Rock 101 is one of School of Rock’s major programs for kids and beginners. The patented School of Rock Method combines our core philosophy of performance-based music education with a unique curriculum designed for kids with no previous musical experience. Students have one weekly group rehearsal where they learn classic rock songs that have been simplified specifically for beginner musicians. These rehearsals get young musicians to learn the fundamentals of their instrument while playing with a band in a positive and fun atmosphere. Students also have a weekly private music lesson with an instructor who will help them rehearse performance songs while teaching them foundational music skills and concepts.

The Performance Program is School of Rock's hallmark music program, designed for students who possess some level of musical proficiency and experience. Utilizing the patented School of Rock Method, the Performance Program consists of weekly group rehearsals where kids and teens learn by playing rock music's most iconic songs with a band of their peers. Students are assigned songs and parts tailored to their age, experience, and ability. They then work through their parts in weekly private music lessons, refining the skills and concepts those songs introduce. The goal of this curriculum is to prepare students for live performances. Every few months, Performance Program students take the stage at local music venues in front of a live audience.

Options for beginner and experienced musicians
School of Rock's Adult Program is for students over 18 who are looking for adult music lessons to improve their musical proficiency or learn an instrument for the first time. Utilizing the patented School of Rock Method, the Adult Music Program uses a performance-based music education approach. This means the curriculum focuses on learning music concepts and applying them in a live performance setting. Our Adult Program includes a weekly private lesson and a weekly group rehearsal. Every student is placed in a band of fellow adults, where they learn musical concepts and skills before taking the stage to perform at a live show.
This rehearsal-only option option forgoes the private lessons and is designed for experienced players who just want the ability to play with other musicians on a regular basis.
